Facts About Renters Insurance
If you rent an apartment or house, you might consider purchasing renters insurance.Renters insurance provides coverage for damage or loss of personal property for people in rental housing. It's to insure the renter's belongings from theft or damage. In addition, renters insurance also provides liability coverage for people in rental housing if somebody is injured while in the rental place. In this case, the renter is sheltered from lawsuits or liability for the problems cause by him/her.Renters insurance can help you if one of the following things happens to you: your apartment catches on fire and your belongings are lost or damaged; you get stolen from a theft who breaks into your apartment; a friend of you injures himself while having a party in your apartment; an electrical power surge damages your television, stereo and computer. While renters insurance has a broad coverage, keep in mind that earthquake and damage caused by food are not covered in most renters insurance policy.

Many renters think their landlord's insurance will cover them. This is not true. In general, the landlord's insurance only covers the building, but not the renter's belongings and liability. Renters insurance is not expensive. For example, a policy that costs around $300 a year (with a deductible of about $250) could cover between $20,000 and $30,000 worth of loss or damage, plus $500,000 to $1 million in personal liability.

To shop for renters insurance, you should try getting quotes from different insurance providers in order to find the best deal. You can check with your auto insurance company to see if they also sell renters insurance and whether the will give you a discount for buying two types of insurance from them. Renters insurance is often overlooked by people renting an apartment or house, but it's a renter's good friend and it will give you the peace of mind..

Oregon revenue: down by $35 million
While Oregon state economists have revised the state?s budget downward, lawmakers believe the adjustment is small enough that the state can easily absorb the hit. The state on Wednesday revised its revenue forecast lower by $35.1 million for the 2011-13 biennium and by $15.8 million for the 2013-15 biennium. The Joint Ways and Means committee eventually makes spending recommendations based on Oregon economists' forecasts. Because the forecasts are issued after lawmakers approve biennial budgets, the state must often scramble to make cuts when the general fund forecast comes in lower than what the Legislature had originally planned to spend...<div class="feedflare"> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=yLufJBk-m88:7e-LXlpReNY:yIl2AUoC8zA"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=yLufJBk-m88:7e-LXlpReNY:V_sGLiPBpWU"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?i=yLufJBk-m88:7e-LXlpReNY:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=yLufJBk-m88:7e-LXlpReNY:F7zBnMyn0Lo"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?i=yLufJBk-m88:7e-LXlpReNY:F7zBnMyn0Lo" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=yLufJBk-m88:7e-LXlpReNY:qj6IDK7rITs"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img></a> </div>

ABC Action News: Lifestyle Lift clinics being investigated
Florida's Attorney General is investigating Lifestyle Lift, a company that advertises "less invasive, cheaper facelifts," an I-Team investigation at ABC Action News has found. The station reviewed all the complaints filed against against the Michigan company that, according to the report, said it operates 40 clinics nationally. The company has a location in Westshore. Some patients said they were told treatments would make them look younger, "but the results didn?t live up," the report said. In addition to the attorney general's investigation, the company faces two ongoing lawsuits alleging false advertising filed in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, and has several claims from unsatisfied patients, ABC reports.<div class="feedflare"> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=Dl3-WpmTdqE:8ikLD0lp6u0:yIl2AUoC8zA"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=Dl3-WpmTdqE:8ikLD0lp6u0:V_sGLiPBpWU"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?i=Dl3-WpmTdqE:8ikLD0lp6u0:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=Dl3-WpmTdqE:8ikLD0lp6u0:F7zBnMyn0Lo"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?i=Dl3-WpmTdqE:8ikLD0lp6u0:F7zBnMyn0Lo" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=Dl3-WpmTdqE:8ikLD0lp6u0:qj6IDK7rITs"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img></a> </div>
Ohio billionaire bankrolling pot initiative
Ohio billionaire Peter Lewis is almost entirely bankrolling a proposed ballot question that would legalize the medicinal use of marijuana in Massachusetts, the Patriot Ledger reports. Lewis has backed similar efforts in other states. Lewis, chairman of auto insurer Progressive Corp., contributed $525,000 to the Committee for Compassionate Medicine, which is supporting the question. That accounted for virtually all the $526,167 raised by the group in 2011, the Ledger notes.<div class="feedflare"> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=kn0I8K4SnaU:NR89fWfuqrA:yIl2AUoC8zA"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?d=yIl2AUoC8zA" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=kn0I8K4SnaU:NR89fWfuqrA:V_sGLiPBpWU"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?i=kn0I8K4SnaU:NR89fWfuqrA:V_sGLiPBpWU" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=kn0I8K4SnaU:NR89fWfuqrA:F7zBnMyn0Lo"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?i=kn0I8K4SnaU:NR89fWfuqrA:F7zBnMyn0Lo" border="0"></img></a> <a href="http://feeds.bizjournals.com/~ff/vertical_4?a=kn0I8K4SnaU:NR89fWfuqrA:qj6IDK7rITs"><img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~ff/vertical_4?d=qj6IDK7rITs" border="0"></img></a> </div>
