Recruiting Firm Adds 13,000 Candidates Annually Through Its

Consultis discovers VCG's WebPAS WorldLink® increases candidateapplications and employee productivity

Consultis, a Boca Raton, FL-based recruiting firm, placescandidates in contract and full time positions in both IT andFinance. Originally, Consultis used several software packages --including contact management and search and retrieval systems.However, different software packages meant that getting neededinformation for recruiters, candidates and clients wasdifficult, inefficient, and time-consuming. What's more, therewas no means to integrate these dissimilar systems into a Website portal to enable e-business communication with bothcandidates and clients.

In the competitive recruiting environment, they knew they had tomake a change to their applicant tracking software to increasetheir productivity and business. So in 2001, Consultisconsolidated their multiple solutions into one by choosing VCG'sWebPAS® recruiting software.


Functionality and productivity improvements help 'raise the bar'

WebPASmirrors the natural workflow of the recruiting business,reducing the time recruiters spent to perform administrativetasks so they could focus on revenue-generating recruiting tasks.

Jamie Delsing, Director of Marketing for Consultis agrees,"Previous software packages had none of the depth of the WebPASproduct. Productivity was not accurately measured with ourlegacy software. WebPAS accurately measures productivity as wellas the benchmarking of our business processes."

Thorough training and support made it easy for new users.

To learn what WebPAS recruiting software could do for theirbusiness and apply it effectively, Consultis went through"train-the-trainer" sessions at their corporate headquarters.These participants then trained all users in a two-day"hands-on" training class.

"Our training with VCG on WebPAS was extraordinary. If ourtrainer didn't know the answer to a particular question, heimmediately found out for us. We implemented a similar processwhen we trained our own people," Delsing said.

Gutmann added, "People that work for us come from differentindustries, but they all like WebPAS and find it very powerful.After the two-day course, our employees can't wait to jump intothe database."

Integrated Web site recruiting module drives high-qualitycandidate applications and communication.

With productivity improved, Consultis added WebPAS WorldLink® totheir VCG software package in 2002. The WebPAS WorldLinkrecruiting software module integrates many core functions ofWebPAS with a staffing firm's Web site in real-time. It combinesan online job board and client and candidate Web portalsenabling Consultis to more effectively manage and communicatebusiness information.

"From a marketing perspective, it dramatically increased ourexposure as a company and our Web presence. Instead of ourinternal employees manually entering resume or profileinformation, they click 'populate' on the job order and it's outthere," says Delsing.

"Since implementing WebPAS WorldLink, we have had about 13,000candidates register annually through our Web site. Of these weplaced about 450 candidates in various positions annually. Weexpect this number to grow," says Gutmann. Also, because WebPASWorldLink is based on easily customizable Microsoft® .NETtechnology, Consultis has also been able to modify WebPASWorldLink to meet their business needs.

This functionality enables candidates to easily post theirresume and profiles as well as update them. The net result isthat Consultis recruiters have to perform less data entry makingtheir jobs easier and enabling them to focus on recruiting.

Delsing states, "when dealing with IT candidates, they wouldmuch rather update their own information on our site as it givesthem a sense of influence over what types of positions they willbe considered for."

Delsing plans on extending their success with candidates tocustomers, saying that, "Consultis will push the WebPASWorldLink module to our clients in the latter half of the year(2005) so that they can place orders, review order statuses andset up their own search agent generally enable us to buildstrong interactive relationships with them."

Industry veterans, Delsing and Gutmann understand that theadministrative requirements of the recruiting business place aheavy, non-revenue-generating load on recruiters. By harnessingthe power of the WebPAS and WebPAS WorldLink applicant trackingsystem, Consultis employees are able to focus significantly moretime on recruiting activities.

And as Delsing states, "Time is money."

Key recruiting functions improve communications andrelationships.

One function that new recruiters were impressed by when joiningConsultis is the mass outbounding feature within the WebPASrecruiting software. Consultis recruiters use the mail mergefunctionality within WebPAS to create, customize and personalizeletters and emails to candidates and clients. The feeling is amuch more personal one, a message that Consultis wants to stressto build relationships with recipients.

Consultis plans on expanding its services to include corporatefinance and accounting placement within all their nine offices.Delsing and Gutmann are confident that they will be successfulwith expanding their new financial placement business model intotheir offices throughout the country. Due to the requirementsenacted in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, Delsing looks to thefuture and states, "that IT and financial placements are aperfect mix."

"There has been a surge in our business since the economystarted coming out of the recession," Delsing states. "Companiesare looking at new ways of hiring such as flex staffing andcontract work. With WebPAS we have the recruiting softwaretechnology in place to handle the expansion of our business withease."
