This takes away the need to tear the walls apart for insulation purposes. Smaller gaps and cracks or holes can also be filled easily using spray insulation. Spray insulation is also known to build resistance to air infiltration because of its property of expansion on curing. Most kinds of chemicals used in spray insulation are also fire-proof. Disadvantages of using spray insulation

Although polyurethane foam spray insulation has high fire-resistant properties, the walls that may get damaged due to the spraying action can result in cracks which could in turn lead to moisture build up and vapor condensation. Also, over a period of time, spray foam insulation is known to lose the trapped gases within the foam and result in reduction of insulation efficiency.
